My Tried-and-Tested Travel Essentials for Every Type of Trip
Whether you’re off to Lisbon, Portugal for a city break or jetting off to the Caribbean, the right travel gear makes all the difference. Here’s a handpicked list of amazon travel essentials I personally use — and some I recommend based on years of travelling and now helping my clients plan their dream trips.
1. Ryanair-Approved Travel Backpack – My Go-To Carry on Bag

Hand Luggage Backpack Cabin Size 20L, Laptop Backpacks Small Travel Bag
This is the exact bag I use for budget airlines like Ryanair. It’s lightweight, fits under the seat, and has multiple compartments for everything I need — from chargers to snacks. Its not too expensive and actually is very roomy. I have done a weekend with just this bag. I am also sure I won’t fall fowl to Ryanair’s baggage measurement rules.
My Star Pick: Perfect for European weekenders and carry-on only trips.
2. Noise-Cancelling Headphones (Great value & Great sound)

Soundcore by Anker Life Q30i
These headphones are amazing value for money. I use them on every flight — they’re comfy, great quality, and cancel out engine noise or chatty passengers effortlessly. It also has a great sound as I need to hear that base. I have them in the stylish off white colour which I love. These go with me whenever I travel.
My Star Pick: Battery lasts up to 40 hours and charges fast – I’ve tested it myself!
3. Selfie Stick, Tripod & Remote in One

This nifty gadget fits in your bag and helps you get stunning solo travel shots. Use the tripod mode for stable video, or extend it for wide-angle selfies. The remote is reliable to take those stunning shots and not just photos video too. The gimbal function as well helps to stabilise images when I am moving around and works really well. I have done all of my vlogs using this for both stills and video.
My Star Pick: Portable. I use this for my content — game changer for solo and group shots!
4. Instant Connectivity: eSIM for Travel
YeSIM – My Trusted International eSIM Provider
Say goodbye to swapping SIM cards at the airport. With YeSIM, I can connect to data networks in over 180 countries within minutes. Its easy and convenient with bundles to match your needs. However, I would also recommend getting a local physical SIM card though as a backup
My Star Pick: Great for checking maps, booking Ubers, and staying in touch while abroad without ridiculous roaming charges. Not so great in African countries.
5. 3-in-1 Retractable Charging Cable for All Devices
Retractable Multi-Charging Cable (USB-C, Lightning, Micro USB)
Charge everything — phone, headphones, Kindle, and more — with one cable. This comes as a pair. I keep one in my day bag at all times. The other is for when i travel. Its compact without a tangle of cords everywhere and it has a good length as well. Sooo convenient and two of them! A no brainer from Amazon must have.

My Star Pick: No more hunting for the right charger and compact for packing.

7. Hanging Toiletry Organizer Bag

It’s the perfect way to keep your toiletries neat in hotel bathrooms, especially if you’re limited on counter space. I don’t have this particular one but this is a great buy for those longer trips to keep everything organised. Love the different designs you should be able to find one that matches your asthetic.
My Star Pick: Rolls up neatly in your suitcase.

8. Universal Travel Adapter with USB Ports

TESSAN Universal Travel Adapter Worldwide with 2 USB C and 2 USB A Ports
I only recently got this and used it on 3 different trips. It worked really well with no issues. I used in Ghana, Portugal and Egypt. This takes the guesswork out of which adapter to get for each country and I had built up a few! With this I can stay powered up in over 150 countries! It’s compact and lets you charge multiple devices at once with the USB ports. A great buy.
My Star Pick: A must-have for international travellers, no guessing which adapter to take.
9. A Neck Pillow That Actually Works!
COMFY Memory Foam Travel Pillow for Airplane
I always try to sleep on the plane. Usually unsuccessfully! I gave up on the usual neck pillow until I came across this. Goodbye to neck pain on flights! This pillow keeps your head supported in every direction. It also folds into a handy case without losing its shape. This is ideal for those long haul flights or long transfers to catch some zzz’s. It’s also Amazon’s choice and mine!

10. Digital Luggage Scale
Luggage Scale Portable Digital Weight Scale
Can you relate, packing the backs using the bathroom scale and still not sure the luggage is within weight. Then your heart races as you get to the counter nervously looking at the number climb up on the scale. A sigh of relief! Its in weight. No need to stress about what your luggage weights with this digital portable scale. No more guess work, or check in counter sweats. Never get hit with overweight baggage fees again or the embarrassment of removing items with rolling eyes in the queue behind you. This tiny tool is a big life saver!

My Star Pick: Saved me on a Ryanair return flight – I was just under the limit by 0.5kg!
BONUS: Apple AirTag – Popular for Luggage Tracking
Apple AirTag (Pack of 1 or 4)
While I don’t personally use these (yet!), many frequent travellers swear by AirTags to keep track of their luggage — especially with airline mishandling on the rise. Just pop this Amazon must have in your suitcase and track its location with your iPhone. You will always know where you backs are. I lost my bags for 24 hours when I travelled to South Africa. And it wasn’t just my bag the entire plane’s luggage did not arrive due to a late connection. Luckily my bag was delivered and I had spare clothes in my hand luggage. But with this AirTag I would have been able to tell exactly where my bag was.
