Becoming a Travel Agent is the best thing I have done. Traveling has always been more than just a hobby for me; it’s a passion that makes me feel alive and opens my eyes to the wonders of the world.

I was at my regular 9 to 5 job I have been doing for 15 years! I was feeling unfulfilled like I can’t do another 15 years of this! This can’t be it. Then at a team meeting there was an icebreaker session asking everyone what they would be doing if not doing the job they in. When it was my turn I said I would love to travel the world while writing and inspiring others to travel.

After that meeting. The response kept nagging me I could sleep for days. In my head kept saying so why are you doing that? Why are you not doing what your ideal job is? I couldn’t shake it and so began my journey. Mel Diamond Travels (MDT) was born.

Everyone has that dream destination in mind, whether it’s the serene beaches of the Maldives, the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu, or the lively streets of Dubai or Thailand. As an independent travel agent, I get to help people turn these dreams into reality. How cool is that! Crafting personalized travel plans and making sure every detail is just right sounds incredibly fulfilling. There’s nothing quite like hearing someone rave about their amazing vacation, knowing I played a part in it.

Having been to over 30 countries across 5 continents I know how daunting planning travel can be. I took my first solo trip when I was a teenager too early to have the fear of travel. I had no concept of danger! I was brave way back then!

Helping someone realise their dream by taking those anxieties away is priceless! I believe everyone should enjoy travel whether only the occasional big holiday or the forever nomad that travels constantly.

One of the coolest perks of being a travel agent is the chance to travel myself, exploring new places so I can give my clients the best advice. I love diving into different cultures, tasting new foods, and experiencing local traditions. These adventures not only enrich my life but also allow me to share authentic and insightful recommendations with my clients.
